Albums:

1. SMPT:e
2. Bridge Across Forever
3. Testimony 2
4. V
5. One
6. Testimony
7. The Light

Songs:

1. All of the Above
2. Duel With the Devil
3. Seeds of Gold
4. The Doorway
5. The Creation
6. The Door
7. At the End of the Day

Honorable mentions: The Water, Harm's Way, My Shoes, The Great Nothing, The Separated Man, Mercy Street Revisited

? is his worst probably. Too much metal, and the symphonic parts are reigned in because of it. Hmm, I should end on a good note. All of the Above is maybe the greatest non-classical piece of music I've ever heard. I've gone Starless when I'm in that darker mood, and Firth of Fifth when I want it slightly more adequate at the expense of some epicness (and the absurd jazzy piano solos).

^ I like your lists. I'd rearrange some stuff and add more ? and a lot more of the Beard.

I love ? a lot precisely because of its metal. Tracks 4>5>6 just blow the doors off IMO. The back end is quieter.

The lyrics are fantastic also.

Funny, I've always regarded Sola as more metal than ?

I like both though

And I agree about All Of The Above. It was the track that turned me on to Transatlantic, which introduced me to both Morse and the Flower Kings.

It's heavier but the compositions are more complex / symphonic, and there are no DT w**k bits (maybe the Paul Gilbert solos but the music behind it is so good it doesn't matter). There's some great bits in ? though.

I admit I've not enjoyed Sola as much as other Morse fans.

I heard an interview with Neal and he said Sola was very difficult to make, he didn't really like it all that much and had to just get the thing done. He remarked that many fans consider it their favorite so his point was "you never know" to other musicians...the thing you don't like might be someone's favorite. Just keep working your craft.

anyway, made me feel better about it not being my favorite.
