Were they officially rejected? I could see them not being a great fit based on their first two albums, but I think the latest, "The Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood" could qualify as a proggy black metal release, in the vein of bands like Agalloch or Skagos, and I noticed that that album came out after this thread was posted.

Listening to the new album and it does show progress. I'll notify the PMT for the re-evaluation.

Excellent, I'm rather fond of that album, and I do think they have quite a few proggy elements in there.

Awesome, I'm really glad they're being added! If you need helping getting a bio together or adding the discography, I'll do whatever I can to help.

The bio might be tough though, seeing as, like any proper black metal band, there's relatively little information regarding the band besides their discography. But, I'm willing to get in touch with them or whatever.

Falls of Rauros is a Black/Folk metal band from Maine, US formed in 2005. The band describes their music as "North Appalachian Heathen Black Folk Metal," exhibited by their firm beliefs in returning the world to a pre-Christian time, as well as their appreciation for nature. The name Falls of Rauros is from J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings". Their lyrical themes range from Nature to misanthropy and anarchism. Their first release was a demo entitled "Window of the Eye" in 2006 which opened to quite positive reviews in the metal scene. They have released 3 full-length albums up to now. Their latest album is "The Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood" released in 2011 through Bindrune Recordings.

Falls Of Rauros band members don't disclose much about their identities. However, it's known that initially FoR was a duo (Aaron and Ray - otherwise known as Acrimonious Vagabond and Abhorrent Wayfarer), and now it has 4 members, the other two being called called Evan and Jordan (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Falls_of_Rauros/67357).

They didn't have a drummer as far as I can tell for the recording of 'The Light that Dwells in Rotten Wood' and Austin Lunn (Panopticon, Seidr) performed drums on this record as a session musician.

Good research. They're one of my favorite bands and I haven't been able to find any information.

There isn't much, I have to admit. Glad to have been able to help with the little bit that I did find.  Smile

Hi guys,

I've still not managed to write the bio for Falls of Rauros due to the fact that there isn't much info available on the band. I've send an e-mail to [email protected] (which I found on fallsofrauros.blogspot.com/) a few weeks ago but have still not received a reply.

I will try to write a bio based on this interview I found but if anyone here has any more information then feel free to PM me or post a reply here in the thread.
