Jazz fusion usually means fusion with rock. Or perhaps Indian or African music.

But do you guys realise how much work it would be to include all new related electronic music which is in a way related to prog? For one thing you would pretty much have to include goa trance, psy trance, progressive trance, not sh*tty club trance but spend much time classifying what is progressive and what is sh&tty club trance, and you'd also have to include chill stuff with tablas and such which isn't usually considered trance.

Not to mention probably a bunch of other electronic styles. Ambient comes to mind as well.

What about Jazz Fusion? C'mon guys, they have to fit somewhere.

Quote To sum up things, the progressive electronic subgenre is dedicated to intricate, moving, cerebral, intrusive electronic experiences that get involved in "kosmische", dark ambient, (post) industrial, droning, surreal or impressionist soundscapes territories.

That sums up basically what you'll find in PE, though there are some bands that don't really fit under that, and some that could almost be considered exceptions (Throbbing Gristle for example).

Yeah, Austin, if you like Burial, check out his more recent work like Cossogramma and Until the Quiet Comes. His early stuff is a lot more grittier and hip-hop/trip-hop oriented. All his stuff is great though.

Well, he did release Until the Quiet Comes last September, and I think if he wasn't applicable for registration based on the material beforehand, the new album is definitely a worthy shot. Check it out if you haven't. It's really good.

I'm not returning to JMA until I can change that annoying colour scheme.

His Shades of Blue album is pretty cool.

Yeap, I intend to give them more listens to see if that would be feasible.

I personally wouldn't suggest them for progressive electronic on this site, although Cosmogramma is progressive and electronic it doesn't fit with the standard of progressive electronic artists. I would be for suggesting a new genre for this type of newer electronic progressive music, though (like how '70s symphonic prog differs from '80s neo-prog, but it still definitely prog.)
