I love that one.  It's really old, which probably explains why you used to have that. LOL
Those sci-fi posters are even older.

This thread needs a little bit of Amazing Rhythm Aces.  Nice cover of an Al Green tune here:

Can you tell me where we're headin'?

Oh oh oh, Mark O'Connor:

I love that first video, and I love Mark O'Connor but that song sounds exactly like what I hate about country music.

Thanks for that first video though, that was awesome Smile

Ariel - A Strange Fantastic Dream is tagged as both progressive rock and country rock. Good album.

I still need to check out Bob Drake. I looked for him on grooveshark the other day but he is not there.

In the past year or so, I've got pretty into the alternative country scene. It started with Munly (who is still my favorite) but over time I explored 16 horsepower and Woven Hand as well, and in the past week I spent some time with Lilium, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, and the Denver Gentlemen as well.

It's interesting how all these groups are related to the last one...

Denver Gentlemen featured David Eugene Edwards and Slim Cessna

David Eugene Edwards went on to form 16 horsepower, which later split into Lilium and Woven Hand
Slim Cessna went on to form Slim Cessna's Auto Club, of which Munly is a member

And of course they guest on each others works from time to time as well

I suppose they are all from the same area geographically (I assume Denver because these bands are all described as having "The Denver Sound") so the relationship between the bands isn't that unusual, but it's still neat.

Coming Soon

^ I suggest checking out "The Shunned Country". 52 songs, 40 minutes. A little off-putting at first, but one of the better albums from the last decade.

Papa Nebo's selft-titled album can be regarded as country jazz-rock.
"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)
