Hello friends and fern fronds,
I am writing to inform you of the release of my self released musical venture as GIVIAN entitled 'Upperfriend.' Although not firmly in a 'ROCK' context in terms of instrumentation, my style is very heavily indebted to the progressive rock and jazz fusion greats that I worship and whose compositional courage have given me the confidence to create non loop based electronic progressive soundscapes for you ears and to satisfy my craving to fill a perceived 'gap' in what is being released right now. You may also be familiar with some of my illustration work as I have provided covers for the last 2 Beardfish releases and 2 for the Watch, as well as the 'Romantic Warriors: A progressive music saga DVD.' My illustration work can be seen at http://www.kealabowden.com
I do appreciate very much your feedback on this release, negative and positive. I wasn't sure which community to try and talk about it in as it is both electronica and prog. Guess I'll have to swing both ways! haha If you have a soft spot for prog / neoclassical as well as dance music it will appeal to you but even the staunch symponic lovers will find some nuggets to devour in this one. Very varied arrangements.
