Iron Man has a new version as the soundtrack to the new movie but of course Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are best versions. Dio did a good live version. Try weird Al Yankovics version - parodied to I am Santa Claus!
More superheroes in music to look up
Oh Superman - Laurie Anderson
Batman - Z? (jazz)
Flash - Queen
Captain Zero - The Mixtures
Invisible Man - ?
Wonder Woman - ?
Ghost Rider (in the sky?)
what else?

I thought a lyric of Black sabbath that Superman is mentioned. The song is Spiral architect from Sabbath bloody sabbath. Here's the lyric: "Sadness kills the Superman".

"superman yes i am, I'm gonna make you love me.. Superman! If I can I'm gonna make you love me."
"better than batman, he's better than spider man, better than action man..."

While the comic book superhero is indeed inspired by the C&W song, perhaps a better choice of song would have been:
Ghost Rider - Rush

^ that could easly be Robin Hood as much as the companion hand of Batman, but then Robin Hood can be said to be the first Superhero ever, him or Beowulf

The "Robin" reference in TAAB is a pun on the name Robin Day, a well know political journalist in Britain at the time.

^Seems not unlikely. But being Dutch, my first thought was that it referred to Batman's sidekick. As a child, I read Superman and Batman comics at the same time.

This is quite a task but I found some excellent songs featuring superheroes on a website:
Ghost Rider" by the Rollins Band from the soundtrack of The Crow "Riding down the street with your head on FIRE ... Ghost Rider!" taken from http://www.comicbookradioshow.com/trapped/songlist.html |
