Herod Layne is a post-rock band from Brazil. The bio, taken from the band's website, is below:

Herod Layne is a post-rock instrumental band formed by Sachalf (guitars), Elson (bass, guitars), Lippaus (guitars) and Johnny (drums). In 2007 the band took part in the David Gilmour's "Arnold Layne" worldwide online contest, and was ranked among the top ten best versions for Syd Barrett's 1967 song. 2008 saw the release of In Between Dust Conditions album and the Walking The Valley EP by the net label Sinewave. In 2009 the band released a new EP - Sealand Fire, also by Sinewave -, and made a small tour in Canada, playing at the Canadian Music Week festival. The tour was followed by the documentary "Je Me Souviens...", directed by guitarist Sachalf. The band also played at various festivals in Brazil throughout the year - Festival Calango in Cuiabá, the two Sinewave Festivals in São Paulo, and Festival Extravaganza in Sorocaba.

And it'll have to be rewritten a bit; a description of the music and of the influences is necessary. Smile

^They send me the bio and a pic:

Herod Layne is a post-rock band formed by Sachalf (guitars), Elson (bass), Lippaus (guitars) and Johnny (drums).

In 2007 the band took part in David Gilmour's "Arnold Layne" worldwide online contest, being ranked among the top ten best versions for Syd Barrett's 1967 song. The year 2008 saw the release of In Between Dust Conditions album and Walking The Valley EP by net label Sinewave. In 2009 the band released the new EP Sealand Fire, and made a small tour in Canada, playing at the Canadian Music Week festival. The tour was followed by the documentary "Je Me Souviens...", directed by guitarist Sachalf. The band also played at various festivals in Brazil throughout the year – Festival Calango in Cuiabá, the two Sinewave Festivals in São Paulo, and Festival Extravaganza in Sorocaba.

In 2010 they released a new album entitled Absentia. The album received critical acclaim from magazines like Rolling Stone Brasil and Comando Rock, as well as from local music web sites like Scream & Yell, RockinPress and Movin' Up. In 2011 they headlined two editions of the itinerant Sinewave Festival, both in Curitiba and Porto Alegre, and is about to play the upcoming Sinewave Rio de Janeiro. The band has recently released the video for "The Unsung Hero", which got MTV airplay, and is currently writing new material for an upcoming release, set to see the light of day by year end.

– "Post-hecatomb soundtrack" – Rolling Stone Brasil

– "Noise factory" – Scream & Yell

– "Claustrophobic" – Sérgio Martins (renowned journalist)

– "Guillotined chords in ever growing tremor" – RockinPress

– "Dark and ghostly; Post-apocalyptic cinematographic ambiances" – Movin' Up

– "Guitar insanity and dark ambiances" – Move That Jukebox

– "One of the greatest names in Brazilian post-rock" – Fora do Eixo

– "Time stopped, Earth stopped, and all there was at that precise moment were heavy bass lines, furious distorted guitars and an audience split between insanity and those who could barely express any reaction. Explosive, incendiary concert, that left the audience in another frequency." – RockinPress

– "What was impressive was that none in the room could avoid the thrilling sensation of hair-raising during the concert. Noise, gorgeous riffs, art and a lot of fun. The intensity was so high that there were people screaming at the instrumental peaks. The ending was simply apotheotic." – Karen Koltrane Radio

– "Whoever tries to listen to Herod Layne with the attention spanned by this audience would have in high note a music that could be called art-rock." – Floga-se

They're now up (Herod Layne), so you can add the albums now. When adding them, please specify in the "Release information" field something like "Free download available on the label website" (and you can post the link too). Thumbs Up

When you're done, I'll add them to my Index too.
