I think it is time to mention a few German guitar players; there are a bunch of excellent ones.

1) Roman Bunka of Embryo, Aera and with solo works; also lots of radio plays.

2) Michael Karoli of Can

3) Manuel Göttsching of Ash Ra Tempel


4) Peter Wolbrandt of Kraan

5) Muck Groh of Aera

I'll second this although I might replace David Gilmour with Andy Latimer (from Camel). At the very least Latimer would get an honorable mention.

I also think Jan Akkerman, Gary Green, Steve Hillage, John Mclaughlin, Al Di meola, Pat Metheny, Alan Holdsworth, Steve Morse, Trevor Rabin, Martin Barre, and Steve Rothery deserve to be mentioned somewhere(maybe if we extended the list). It would be nice to see those guys on somebody's list anyway. I guess the list could go on and on.
