It's been a while since we've heard anything from A.C.T, even though the band released a three-part video covering the recording of their fifth album on YouTube nearly 2 years ago! Confused

Latest album was released in 2006(!) and the band's guitarist Ola Andersson even had time to work on a side project called THE LOVE together with the band's ex-drummer Tomas Erlandsson.

Fearing that A.C.T has unofficially called it a day, I contacted the band's bass player Peter Asp on Facebook to get some official news. Fortunately, it didn't take Peter long to respond to my message and here is the rough translation of his reply (originally in Swedish):

Hi there!

We started rehearsing for the new album some time ago, but then it just ended. Different circumstances had changed around A.C.T, but not within A.C.T itself, we were the same as always. We felt that the band members needed some room, to take a break in order to realize what we wanted to do with the band.

But now we're up and running! Last weekend, we went into the studio. Oh how good it feels! But the recording will go on for quite a while. We're taking things slow to get the record exactly as we want it, without any coercion.
So I have
no official release date, sorry ...
I can gladly inform you that we're still here and thinking of you (the fans)!

Hang in there!

/PETER

Great news indeed! Thumbs Up

Edit: Thank you to whoever changed the subject title! Clap

A.C.T. haven't made a bad album yet. I have really high hopes for this one.

Fine!

Saw them live once and they were super.
Bought immediatly there first 3 cd's.
The first two are great fun and the third one (Last Epic) is IMO a modern masterpiece.

I saw them back in 2006 in Porchefontaine during their very short summer tour, and also opening for Saga in 2003. In both cases, they were great.

A new album would be welcome !

They're posting stuff on Facebook every other day now about the works of the new album. It's great being able to follow the process.

Last.FM told me about this new release:

Alas, it is not for A.C.T but for some band called A.C.T. and does not appear to be a type of music that will interest.  At any rate, that leads to the question what has happened in the studio for our A.C.T after two years?
