I suppose I held off on this for awhile, but I'm listening to his recent Sigh of Ages work and there's really no getting around it. It recalls his earlier sequencr-driven electronic music (Empetus). Even supposing his 90s and a lot of the 00s work is possibly "too ambient" for Progressive Electronic (which, let's face it, would make NO SENSE given Brian Eno and Robert Rich's inclusion on the archives), his 80s works do often have that sequencer, Klaus Schulze-like quality.

But that should not really be a factor anyway. This guy is a legend, and more people should know and care about him.

Need I say anything more?

I'm kind of surprised he isn't here already.  Possibly too ambient?  My favorite is Darkness Before Dawn.  It sounds like the dark areas of space.   I also have Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces, Desert Solitaire.  I stopped there in part because of the huge discography.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Apparently he was rejected by Philippe and Rico back in 2007.

Philippe's irrationality and Walter-esque prejudice was expected, but Rico's treachery hits too close to home. Violin

Also, bullsh*t.

ShockedLOL

Honestly don't remember stoney, different times, with only Eno on the ambient bench, perhaps.

Anyway, the samples sound good for prog electronic, maybe it was just an issue of well was the case made (in the past).

Steve Roach not on PA? I wasn't even aware, but he belongs to the Progressive side (I should write something more convincing, but I'm a bit tired tonight).

Steve Roach is great and I would support his addition.  Awesome tracks you posted too.

I'm surprised he's not on here. If Lustmord and Harold Budd are here, Steve Roach's inclusion only makes sense.

Sigh of Ages is very different from Empetus. In fact, empetus is clearly in the vein of sequenced Tangerine Dream, while Sigh of Ages is more spacey and ambient music, somewhat similar to Harold Budd's last works.

Although different from each other, Sigh of Ages and Empetus are both masterpieces of electronic music.

Well, yeah. It's more in a minimal/ambient techno kind of vein. Point is, it's not just synth pads and echoes.
