I agree about Bill Bruford, his snare drum sound is really nice.

Mmmmmmmmmm. Bruford's is indeed fantastic.
Although I am by no means an expert on the subject, Gavin Harrison has to be my overall favourite. Sickeningly snappy and tight.

I agree.  I've always tried to get my snare to sound like his.
