Special Others are a Japanese group that blend math rock, post-rock, and jazz improvisation - kind of like a more upbeat version of Mouse on the Keys.

I generally hate post-rocky types of bands, but Special Others keep it interesting.

This is nu-jazz and should IMO sit fine in JR/F right near Natsumen, Elephant9 and Jaga Jazzist. I'm notifying the team.

Wiw!

Yeah, I couldn't really decide on whether to call them math/post rock or nu-jazz. Japan has the best math rock, post-rock, and jazz fusion scenes, in my opinion.

They are next on my list to add to JR/F.

Any chance of providing a bio?
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
