I rank Ommadawn as the very best music I've ever heard.

Amarok for me, but I think I'm in the minority.

Good question!

Amarok, Ommadawn or Incantations?

I have to go with Ommadawn though, undeniably perfect in every sense.

What a genius.

Ommadawn is in my opinion more structured and interesting (especially the chanted section at the end of part one)

Amarok is amusing, but I believe it lingers for too long...

I agree with that.

Amarok is more daring, but Ommadawn touches me more emotionally.

Ommadawn. Amarok has some wonderful passages but other parts are a bit of a let-down.

No question - Ommadawn by a Mile.

Amarok is pretty far down the list for me.

TB1 and 2, Incantations, Hergest Ridge, FMO, QE2, Crisis are all better than Amarok IMO.

Amarok was originally intended to be released as 'Ommadawn Pt2' apparently.MO thought of it that way. Both are great albums IMO but on Amarok MO suffers from the need to be humourous just to avoid being tagged ''pretentious''.That is the only thing that (slightly) spoils it.Still much music on there to be enjoyed and admired all the same.Ommadawn is actually my favourite instrumental album by anyone (not just Mike Oldfield).
