I'm not sure I like it, but the strange thing is, it seems to have a closer connection to early 70's Crimson (like Lizard) than the Belew lineup had.

I almost wonder if I would have a better impression of the music without the video.  Well, anyway, I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to drop money on this one, so let's hope that the rest of the album has merit!

It feels like nobody involved in the production of that video cared about it very much.

The video is boring but I like the song.

This song has a great Jakko M Jakszyk  (vocals and style of the song) feel.
Could have been on The Bruised Romantic Glee Club or Waves Sweep The Sand.
More than on a KC CD.

Please use the search function! Someone posted this yesterday already. And before that, it was already posted when it originally appeared, more than a month ago I think.

Asking a bit much to expect a newbie to use the search function. Wink

Not a bad song.
I like a few parts of the video.
But Collins & Fripp don't want to be near the rest of the band?
Fripp appears to have been caught napping at about 3:05.  He probably needs his rest.  Isn't he about 150 years old now? Smile
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

It's NOT OFFICIALLY Crimson.

BUT, it's a ProjeKCt. Officially, the artist tag is Jasczick, Fripp, & Collins (nevermind how Jakko spells his name).

True the rhythm section is T-Lev and Gavin Harrison,

But to be Krim, there would have to be OFFICIAL word that Ade Belew and Pat Mastelletto have departed, which is NOT the case.

Let's be realistic.  We will never have the surprise of "In the Court of the Crimson King" or "Lark's Tongues in Aspic" again.  When those moments came, the recording technology of the time made their heaviness seem revolutionary.  Now, other bands have pushed that envelope so far that it has become a caricature of masculine ego.
The digital King Crimson of the last decade, "The ConstruKction of Light" and "The Power to Believe" remobodied the Crimson sound inside a compressed envelope of electronic immediacy.  But something about having Mel Collins back playing saxophone seems revolutionary in a different way.  Remember real music that didn't depend on programming?  Ever tried to play a saxophone line on a synthesizer?

Robert Fripp has moved on to other frontiers from when he was a young man.  He doesn't have the same things to prove as he did in the 70's.  He has always asked us to recognize the musican's right to follow his muse.

AND, it's probably wise to just label this a ProjeKct, recognizing the exploratory nature of the undertaking, rather than just slapping the King Crimson label on it to increase sales.  This says, "We recognize something familiar here, but it's not exactly King Crimson."  Kind of nice to honor Jakko's work with the Schizoid Band, though.

I still find this video to be disappointing. I'm trying to decide whether I should buy the album or just wait for it to be uploaded to youtube.

I kind of like the video, very dreamy and moody like the song Musically it's kind of a cross between the old and new Crimson mixed with a Level 42 vibe. I like it

AUUUUGH!  I'm so happy with this I'm going crazy and cannot wait to get a copy.

I'm a Jakko fanatic.  I love his voice, playing, and production.  I practically have holes burned into my copies of "Are My Ears on wrong", "Silesia", and "bruised romantic glee club".  I simply love Jakko's song writing, singing and playing.  I think he is VERY underrated as a prog talent.

I'm (obviously) a King Crimson/Fripp fan as well.

This is like a marriage made in heaven.

It sort of reminds me of No-Man meets King Crimson.  I know it will kill most Crimson fanatics as this particular song doesn't have much teeth to it, but it's nice to see Fripp working under a "crimson" moniker and keeping the guitar demons at bay for a little.  If there's one thing I can respect, it's the ability to play loud and hard then turn around and soothe with sound and cause contemplation and introspection.

This is a synthesis of feelings and sound.  I love this kind of stuff.  I CANT WAIT FOR MY COPY!

listen to streaming stuff! no commercials!

That song does nothing for me, and the less said about the awful video the better. I'm glad this isn't an official KC release because if this was the follow-up to "The Power to Believe" I'd be sorely disappointed. 'Insipid' is not a word I normally associate with KC but I can find no other way of describing that.
