Topic: Shouldn't Infected Mushroom be on here already? Posted: June 01 2011 at 19:22 |
I mean if we concider the latest Ulver albums "progressive" then Infected Mushroom should really be in the progressive electronics section already!

Huh? There's nothing in the latest Ulver album that sounds like Prog Electronic, I don't see the connection.
Anyway, if you want to do a band suggestion, please post some info and especially some relevant samples.
Also, doing a quick search would be good, there's already an active suggestion thread for this band (and a closed one). Apparently the consensus is that they're not prog.

| I'm not saying Ulver is progressive electronics, I'm saying they are not really that progressive, and that infected mushroom's music is far more progressive, although I hate debating "progressivness" of bands since it's untangible. Didn't post any info because 1- I assumed everyone knew who I.M. were 2- I also assumed they had been suggested and shot down already, it was a big suprise to me that they weren't on the website

Yea I've already suggested these guys. They're epic techno, not prog electronic. My understanding of PE is more ambient stuff with some techno in the line of Kraftwerk, mainly because they revolutionized the genre.

That is quite a convoluted argument for a band's inclusion. Also, if you ask me, Wars Of The Roses is maybe Ulver's most "progressive rock". If by "progressive" you mean the literal sense of the word, yeah, that's again not an argument. There's a lot of progressive music that's not prog. And as you can see, this band is nowhere near that famous around here as you might have thought.

I've only heard Vicious Delicious and it's tasty psytrance, but I don't think it's necessarily prog.

No, they don't belong here, since they are psytrance act. They aren't even progressive trance, which also is not that progressive either, although the name suggests that.

1. Ulver is on PA 2. Ulver apparently has electronic aspects 3. Infected Mushroom is a psytrance group 4. Add Infected Mushroom to PA
Also,
5. Assuming everyone on PA knows who Infected Mushroom are.
....what the f**k am I reading all over this logic.

Shouldn't they take some anti-bionics first and clear that up?
