Death ambient rule! Thanks Colin! Because I learned them from you. Fred Frith is fantastic!

The Fred Frith Guitar Quartet is another Frith project to look for and I haven't seen it mentioned in the thread yet.
I was mainly interested in it because it featured Doctor Nerve's Nick Didkovsky. |

Fans of Fred (FoFs?!) should check out the documentary Touch the Sound, which is about percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie; FF is in quite a bit of the film as Glennie's chief collaborator.

My Wayside order came in today. Massacre's Killing Time, both Skeleton Crew albums, Death Ambient and Frith's Clearing.
edit: LMAO iTunes calls these albums "indie rock" Edited by Triceratopsoil - July 11 2011 at 14:54 |

^ Funny maybe, but if they're using the original sense of the word then they're right.
My music store also keeps in the indie section all sorts of RIO, krautrock, jap-avant and avant. |

Just got both Skeleton Crew albums and the Cosa Brava albums! (On Itunes unfortunately, shipping to Israel is quite expensive unfortunately). Skeleton Crew is rather hilarious and really genius, and Cosa Brava's album really is just stunning. The folky arrangements are just beautiful!

I have not checked out a lot of his solo work or much after Art Bears split. But I love his work with Art Bears and Henry Cow, so I am motivated to check out his work.
So much music to check out, so little time...... |
