This is a folk ensemble with modern instrumentation. A World Music/World Fusion ensemble, if you want.

Eclectic they're not. Their music is note-to-note carbon copy of music that can be heard at any wedding party on Balkans.

Perhaps there are songs with more "rock" elements, I don't know - there are not too many samples around.

My two stotinkas.
Yes there are. The whole 'Surfin USSR' is availiable in Grooveshark for streaming:

The track "To Hell And Baku" is the strongest 'rockier' example I can think of.

By the way, what happens when everybody says 'yeah, this band plays prog', but at the same time no team members say 'these guys belong here'? The suggested band stays in the forum in some weird limbo-state?

Fusion would be a great fit indeed. Folk could be an option, considering their (obvious) East-european influences. Awesome band, brilliant musicians! Cool

Are the Folk and Fusion teams aware of them at all?
I'm afraid they aren't

It's truly a pity that Farmers Market is not a metal band!

PS
Besides, we all know that the Dune soundtrack was the only good thing Toto did throughout their entire career.
Do you know TOTO ?
I have two farmers' market albums, so I know what I am talking about.

And who are you to despise a band with such superb artists as David Paich, Simon Phillips, Jeff Porcaro or Steve Lukather.

Your post is the dumbest one I have ever seen on the PA forum.

don't forgett Steve Porcaro (behind one of the best Michael Jackson tunes Human Nature), Greg Phillinganes (though he only did one (superb album which he also sang on (superbly) )), Mike Porcary (who suffers from ALS today Cry), David Hungate, Joseph Williams (son of John Williams) and Fergie Fredriksen (who have a uncureable cancer illness Cry). oh last but not least Bobby Kimbal (who now works in a band with formar Yessers Tony Keys and Billy Shenanigans (idont remember his last name)

There are better examples of their rock leanings, but few of those are available on Youtube, unfortunately.

"Red Square Dance" and "Surfin USSR" tracks are Serbian / Bulgarian folk,  not a rock music at all. But, if team(s) are saying: *yes* - this music  is Prog LOL   I'll be very happy Big smile Hey, I'd suggest the Prog band named Splet Kola ~     ( live audio)

15 minutes epic Vragolanka etc.  Big smile        ~

Oh, I'm currently a silent member indeed. Tongue
Now under checkin' ... good texture, and I've felt they be fitter for Jazz Rock / Fusion. Cool

The band is under evaluation by the ZART (Zeuhl/Avant/RIO Team), and if you look at the team chart you'll see that no team member voted yet. Maybe a better idea would be to write the team members and offer help / put pressure? Wink Current active members are SaltyJon, DamoXt7942 and listennow801.

Ok, two collaborators show up, both of them like this stuff but it doesn't belong to any of his prog-departments
So, how can we get in contact with a J-R/F team member?
