hi....does anyone else out there regard "spirit of Eden" and "laughing stock" as incredible albums? i think they are borderline prog.....but mellow and sublime none the less......Mark Hollis's album is sublime too.

I like Spirit of Eden a lot when I listened to it, but Talk Talk's poppier work has stayed with me longer. Such a Shame, It's My Life, Foolish Friend.... Very high on my top songs list.....

Spirit of Eden is one of the best albums, if not the best, on PA.

Both these two albums and Mark Hollis' solo album are some of the greatest works of music ever put out.

The last three Talk Talk albums "The Colour of Spring", "The Spirit of Eden" and "The Laughing Stock" are all great albums which influenced many current bands . Elbow for one cite Talk Talk as innovators in recording dynamics using silence and different sound textures in their atmospheric music. The Colour of Spring is considered the "transitional" one . My fave is probably "The Spirit of Eden" but all three are excellent IMO
I have recently ordered the Mark Hollis solo album which is also supposed to be very good.
