Recently discovered both bands and I've been enjoying them a lot. Both have high rated albums here in the archives and both names begins with "AN" (not important at all LOL)

So which do you prefer?
I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

Anekdoten really but I saw Anathema live and it was magical. BOTH
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Anekdonten, for sure.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Anathema.

Anekdoten are far from essential.
This night wounds time.

Anathema were one of the main shape-formers of modern prog/post-progressive, and they did a lot of truly masterpieceful albums. 'Distant Satellites' showed how heartfelt and magnificent can they be also in electronic music.

As for Anekdoten... I love King Crimson's Red for too much to appreciate its pale copy.
This night wounds time.

Anathema

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

I love Anathema (all era's) but I don't know Anekdoten at all (another big hole in my collection) so I can't vote.
