Mars Volta played new songs live

Texan prog-rockers The Mars Volta tore up the mainstage last night at
Woodfordia. The band took the opportunity to showcase some new songs
from their upcoming sixth album - and we liked what we heard! The songs
had a lot of space and an almost bluesy swagger to them. At one point
there was a life size rubber horse head thrown on stage and lead singer
Cedric wasting no time scooping it up and whacking it on. Even though he
had to hold the jaws open around the microphone, his scream lost none
of its impact. The band were having fun and so was the crowd!
