Which Yes album features Squire's best performance? Focus only on Squire, not the album as a whole.
My vote easily goes to Fragile. |

Fragile---but think Relayer is powerful stuff, too.

He's mixed really loud on Fragile, but I LOVE the bass playing on CTTE

I'm so mad that you enjoy a certain combination of noises that I don't

Close to the Edge made me discover the bass like an melodic instrument

His work with Bruford on Close To The Edge is impeccable.
But his bass stands out alone on Fragile.

|
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I think I'd like TfTO better (though I already like it) if Squire was louder and better mixed, his parts sound good when you listen to them, but they don't have the oomph of his work on the previous albums and don't always stand out like they should.
Hm, CttE or Fragile. |

Gotta go with the majority here as he just booms on Fragile.

I gotta say Close to the Edge. His work on the title track and "Siberian Khatru" is, to my ears, some of the greatest bass guitar playing ever recorded.

I have often said the same - the playing on that album is stunning! |

I'm going for TfTO here, his playing on that is sublime.

Fragile, for his solo piece and for the bass lines on Roundabout.

However outstanding his bass playing on Fragile might be, I have to vote for Close to the Edge because of his work on the title track.
