Awesome British prog band, recently signed to Kavus Torabi's Beliver's Roast label. Totally unique and hard to describe succinctly. Very melodic, but also very complex at times. A bit mathy, pretty heavy, more or less much in a world of their own. Just take a listen to the first two or three tracks from their most recent album We Bake Our Bread Beneath Her Holy Fire and you'll hopefully see what I mean. I'd suggest they're a strong candidate for Eclectic, or perhaps one of the Prog Metal genres... Thoughts?

You will find both interview with the band somewhere else in PA (hint..... the Interview index) and free albums from their homepage. Albums I have downloaded and is in my loooooooong review que. Feel free to download them yourself and review them. The band deserves it. So; the band is here and their albums deserves more reviews. Edit: A golf club, 3 Iron, is waiting at the end of my arms for the individual who suggest the moderate successful English band Genesis for PA. Don't forget to include your address. I am a cretin.
Still, they deserve better than Crossover, IMO. |

Hello Progarchives,
Thanks for all the lovely words about Thumpermonkey, (yes, the 'Lives!' has officially now gone), who are releasing their new album on Believers Roast 31 October 2012. Additionally, Thumpermonkey will be joining Kavus Torabi and Steve Davis on the 'Interesting Alternative Show' this Monday at 10.00pm GMT, talking about their new album, and choosing all the music for the 2 hour show! Enjoy! BR |

OK I discovered them just recently due to the excellent progstreaming site (thanks a lot, Markween ). I ordered their recent CD "Sleep Furiously" and listened to it this morning with great enthusiasm. I agree they got a bit of Math, a bit of heavyness, and a lot of their own. Kavus Torabi is a synonym to music quality IMO, and indeed his name is included in the Thanks list.
Sure this act requires much more recognition from PA reviewers. |
