Who is your favourite? Bryan Ferry - former Roxy Music - or David Sylvian - former Japan?

There is only ONE Bryan Ferry! David is nice but..... no contest.

I have wondered what Fripp and Ferry could have done on an LP.

Former bands Ferry, as solo Sylvian.

Sylvian has the better voice in my opinion. Ferry can sound quite annoying, although Roxy Music has the edge on Japan as a band.

I like Roxy Music almost as much as Japan, but what I've heard of Ferry's solo work doesn't compare to the brilliance of what Sylvian has done since Japan.
I also absolutely love his vocals.

If the question was Roxy or Japan then I would struggle a lot to decide which I prefered in fact I might not be able to decide. However, Sylvian edges it over Brian Ferry.

Ferry, because I have no Japan and Sylvian's solo albums that I have haven't really grown strongly on me. Come to think of it, only one of Bryan's that I have knocked my socks off the first time I heard it: Olympia. David's The First Day would be a good second and I think I like the other solos I have better than the other Ferry solos I have. Hmm, maybe I should have voted Sylvian.
By the way, what's this thing he has with bees? Edited by Slartibartfast - August 30 2011 at 17:55 |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
