Topic: Frozen Geese Posted: August 31 2011 at 16:27 |
Frozen Geese are a four-piece from Leeds, England. They released a largely instrumental double album, The Starseed last year on the Vanity Case label, only available in cassette format. Musically they draw their influences from space rock, psychedelica and krautrock. The album is a really good acid psych freakout and was followed up by a vinyl-only release this year called Disclaimer. This band needs to be added to pysch/space, IMHO. For those without a tape deck or a desire to spend a fiver on the release, The Starseed is helpfuly available as a free download on the following link; Please have a listen and give consideration to adding this band to the archives.

Specially minimalistic Space Rock, with less originality though ... may obviously be fit for PA methinks.
I'll notify the other Psych / Space Team members.

Thanks Gents. Perhaps we're hitting that point in history where all of the obvious band names have been taken and we end up with Frozen Geese for a space band. God knows what they'd call themselves if they started to play post-rock though!

Ha, what is it with that label? They only have a handful of acts, which include Geese, Frozen Geese and 3eese? Someone there has an unhealthly interest in domestic fowl

One of my favourite bands just did an album with a duck in space - that would have been much more proper for a space rock act than Frozen Geese, which sounds like a hardcore band IMO. In fact I'm not sure anymore if that's a duck.
