The Snow Goose is without any doubt the best prog album, nay, suite of music ever made. I've just listened to it in the car and it moves me every time; I could never get tired of it.

The crap that people spawn about it being "too soft" or "not energetic enough" show that they simply haven't a clue that it's a musical interpretation of a short story, a tender love story set in 1940. It interprets the characters and storyline brilliantly without any lyrics; in that sense it's even better than Peter and the Wolf, which does the same but nowhere near as well. Hardness and energy would simply not be in keeping with the story.

I like ITLOGAP very much - by far Caravan's best album and almost rates 5* for me - but it's nowhere near as good as the emotional tour de force that Camel created.
A TVR is not a car. It's a way of life.

As good as In The Land... is, the Snow Goose.

Caravan - easy for me, as the Snow Goose seems very cheesy to me......

for this particular album , the land is far better than the snow , but as a band , Camel  are much appreciated than Caravan  but not by far !  However , Camel discography in 38 years contain at least 5 albums better than the Land  !

I think 'Snow Goose' is the better of the two, but Caravan's 'If I Could Do It All Over Again...' is better than anything else that the two bands ever did.

As it´s evident from my opening post, my fondness will be always for Camel just in this case.

Remember hearing extracts of Snow Goose on the radio back then and going out to buy it and It's the record that got me into Camel.

Snow Goose and early (pre- Breathless) Camel for me.

Well if the Camel album was Mirage I'd vote for it.
But caravan has my vote this time.

My favourite albums by both bands! Grey and Pink for me, but both are soft prog masterpieces
I'm so mad that you enjoy a certain combination of noises that I don't

I used to like both bands equally but now i find Camel to be too gentle and predictable. On another hand, i find that the Caravan "trilogy"
(If i could, In the land, Waterlolily) stands the test of time.
But Caravan did some too-gentle stuff after as well.
