I think crossover is a suitable fit. Take a prog subgenre, math-rock, and mix it with pop. That's crossover. And the way these guys do it is unique :)

^ they've been added to Crossover Prog, so this has no bearing on Mathrock or 'mathpop'

I think they're totally math rock, but they're not really all too progressive. Also, the dude's vocals are super emo, not that it actually matters though.

This act can now be found in the Xover department. Ardent fans: Feel free to add the rest of their discography.

mathcore is math rock/metalcore, so I'd be willing to say they aren't mathcore. |

Good stuff, sounds like a crossed-over form of math rock (or math-pop to a certain extent). Which basically means NO for PA.
This kind of bands was discussed here. Edited by harmonium.ro - September 05 2011 at 03:46 |

It's like math-rock/post-hardcore. I think? Am I just making things up? |

I'm afraid so, just doing it in a smug, obnoxious way only a longtimer who's slightly insane would

They're definitely too mathcore to be considered progressive rock and it would almost be a tight squeeze in math rock.
