I got rid of all my KC albums because I have so many albums and not enough room to store them, so the mediocre and poor stuff had to go.
Fragile is far from my favourite Yes album, but 2/3rds of it is good and I still listen to it.

I like Fragile better but Poseidon is still a very underrated album.

I've deleted a few tracks off Fragile from my iTunes. In The Wake is on complete.

I'm not a fan of albums in which the members make their own songs to be mixed with songs by the band, some Fragile individual tracks are very poor. like Cans & Brahms, other are embarrassing like We Have Heaven or simply fillers like the 35 seconds of Five Percent Nothing, but it also has Roundabout, South Side of the Sky and Long Distance Roundaround which are pure genius.
On the on the hand, ITWOP is an absolutely boring album created in the shadow of a masterpiece like ItCotCK. So Fragile for me. Iván

I love Fragile - my first Prog album that I ever owned. I loved walking the streets in winter and cranking it out on my boom box and listening to the music echo throughout the neighborhood. Of course winter for me in the San Francisco Bay Area was never colder than 50 deg F.

If there is a weakness in the KC debut its that its a little bit bland soundwise. ITWOP is a much harder 'live' sound that jumps out of the speakers. I quite like it but wouldn't rate it above 3 stars. For starters it feels very disjointed and the use of different singers (Haskell and Lake) doesn't help.
Fragile is one of those prog albums with 3 massive tracks that overbears everything else. Not quite a masterpeice but its a safe 4 stars and a very important prog album that was the proper introduction of the mighty Rick Wakeman into the prog scene and saw Bruford,Squire and Howe 'kicking on'. Better was to come though..

Both very good albums but both a little inconsistent at times but, I'm choosing Fragile because that made me a Yes fan

Fragile by far. A masterpiece for me (yeah, the individual pieces won't ruin it for me, and some of them really add to to album). I don't really care so much for Wake of Poseidon... for me indeed it sounds like a copy of the debut, but none of the songs do I like better than their "equivalents" from ItCotCK. And as a matter of fact, the only song I really like on Poseidon is the title track (on the other hand, for me ItCotCK is a 5 star album easily).

KC did some great work on Poseidon, but Fragile is even better.

Fragile. I think that ITWOP just repeats the ideas of ITCOTCK without showing something new.

Fripp considers "Poseidon" and "McDonald & Giles" to be "two halves of a record that never got made."
