Howdy folks,

I thought this might be a suitable place to share this. (although there's a good chance I could be wrong)

Track listings:

1. Crocodile Face (4:50)
2. Blue Mist (6:17)
3. Underwater Forest (3:59)
4. Wonderful Fear of the Ocean mov.1  PlonkTonk (5:29)
5. Mahevac (3:09)
6. Path of the Damned [mov. 1] (11:16)
7. Path of the Damned [mov. 2] (22:56)
8. King's Karpet (14:36)
9. Clang (2:13)
10. E.T's First Microphone (2:54)
11. Clock Liquid (6:46)

So I've just recently completed and released my 4th album. It's called 'King's Karpet' and I don't know what to say about it... I'm hoping the music does the talking. Although I do know that the title track has a tendancy to make some people go "What the f**k is this..."

If you want to check it out there are some full-length samples at: http://www.reverbnation.com/stevehartguitarist

And if you like what you hear, you can buy the whole album at iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/kings-karpet/id457669629?ign-mpt=uo%3D4

To those that dig it, thank you for listening. I take your support to hart. (ho, egotistical pun)

-Steve

Hi Steve,
Cool music! You seem to really have a good sense of balancing the virtuousness and emotion in the music - I like it!
This is a good place to share this, and I'm also going to treat this as a suggestion to be evaluated for addition to the main site (if you don't mind Wink).
I'm going to do a little more listening before deciding on which of our subgenres would best suit your music. It seems very eclectic!

Like I said... it's a very eclectic blend of stuff, and I think Eclectic Prog may be the way to go.
So, the Eclectic Prog Team will evaluate your band, and with enough yes votes, your band will be cleared and eventually added to the site.

Hey Andy,

Yeah I'd appreciate that. I don't mind at all, It'd be an honor.

I think 'Eclectic' is an ok term to use to go about it, yeah. I've always sort of considered my music to be, if anything, 'miscellaneous'.... and to some others it'd be 'sh*t' - which is actually quite an old style of music ;)

but: 'miscellaneous' , 'Eclectic' , 'Prog' - all apples from the same radioactively-mutated tree I'd say :p

So yeah, I'm ok with that and all.
Thanks for having a listen.

Sounds good Thumbs Up

You're under evaluation by the Eclectic Team now Smile

And yea, genre tags are pretty much all subjective - it just makes organization a lot easier. LOL

Ok thanks Andy.

Just opened up the Eclectic prog section there and saw alot of King Krimson in there, so that was nice hehe. I like their stuff,  it really resonates with me. Gentle Giant too. Geek

Well to be fair, I have a hard time with terms and definitions, in the fields of music and art, in general. (moreso nowadays)  It's not the way I like to approach it in listening, writing or playing it.... what with all the rigid boundaries and obligational crap. I feel it hurts the whole experience. I can confide in the term 'progressive' music the most though since it seems to represent freedom and variety in a dynamic way that seems to counteract the whole defining process and what I think is left, alot of the time, is just 'music for music's sake'... which I dig ;)

Thank you for listening.
