No there isn't, unless you'd call 45 minutes of Bass Communion drone a opening 'act'. Anyway, attending this show is a must. Better then the album even, never seen so much energy, spontaneity and pur musical fun from mr Wilson. |

Even with BC as an opening act, I do consider it to be a valid one even if it is a SW project. I'm still terribly traumatized by my experience at a PT concert for the Deadwing tour.

It was a tape playing, it wasn't a piece I knew but very much in the BC style. I hope I'm not spoiling the element of surprise too much ![]() |

This album should have been something I played too much to the point of burn out. But I realize why it hasnt been like that. Every time I listen to it, it feels like winter time music. No leaves on the trees, maybe snow on the ground, etc... THAT is when I will listen to it a lot.

I've mentioned it before but it was a standing room only concert that wasn't made clear when I got the tickets. As it turned out there was a balcony area with seats that they could have let us old fogeys into. So my wife decides to hang out at the bar and people watch. I stake out a spot to stand and behind me are three spoiled rich kids who didn't give a damn about the band trashing it loudly throughout most of the concert until I moved.

Ugh i hate that, sorry to hear that.
At a concert i went to when i was 15, my dad and i were surrounded by drunks. So odious. The a****le told me to hold his damn beer while he flirted with some chicks behind us. They laughed at him.

I am so looking forward to it, I got my Toronto ticket the day they went on sale. Anyway, I know what album the BC is from, and I ordered it a few days ago, but I have heard some negative comments about the sheer length of the "opening act". I hope I won't regret buying it. There are three live tracks from the Shepherd's Bush show up on Wilson's GfD website right now: http://www.gracefordrowning.com/ Oh and one more thing: the guitarist couldn't manage to get into the States, so John Wesley is taking over guitar for the North American leg of the tour. |

Ok so last night i saw Swilson at the House of Blues, a nice, small venue in Orlando.
100% Brilliant. Better than the CD in every way. Marco Minnieman was a f**king beast on drums - but honestly every member was great. Setlist was also enjoyable.

Even though I'm new here I thought I'd contribute my humle opinion of GfD. So far, it is the best SW work I've heard in the last few years. It actually feels like Steve has emotion and passion in the tracks, unlike the late PT and Blackfield stuff. I'm a huge fan of pretty much anything SW does (Bass Communion excepted) and I have to say I was prepared for dissappointment but am warmly surprised at just how good this is!
...and can you all stop talking about live performances, living in the worlds most remote capital city means we never get visited by acts like this.

It may be remote in Australia but at least you are home to The Church - one of the greatest bands around. Cheer up mate. |

New Bass Communion is unlike anything else they have released. I just got it this past week and love it.
Would love to see SW here in the US - unfortunately he will not be anywhere close by. Enjoy! |

Insurgentes DVD case and booklet portion drowned in he flood. The DVD had developed these weird spots shortly after it was dried out. The only undamaged survivors were the CD and the outer cover. Wow, I just realized the surviving disc is a surround mix.
