Reading the Wiki entry on the opera, it says very little about the problems the composer experienced. When I studied music, I heard it was much, much worse – it was actually attacked in the editorial of Pravda, not only once, but twice.

He was born in the British Isles, yes.

He was not a kind of artist; although he is well known for many different things (all related to each other), one of which you can class as a form of art.
