No, not an actor, but he made a featured appearance in a film.
He was the second. Edited by someone_else - July 13 2012 at 06:39 |

He is a freemason, but: No, not a politician.
He punched that taxicab driver on the jaw.

No, not an athlete.
He has something in common with Geddy Lee. And something else with Les Claypool. Yet he is neither a bass player nor a singer. Nay, he is not even a musician. Neither is his birthday on the 29th of a month.

Well done Grape_Jam! I can’t just jump in and steal this one from you, but I see that his first wife was an Archer, and I’ve found the taxi driver and several other clues, so it must be him.

I think your assumption is right, refugee. Grape_Jam is on the right track. I might explain the other hints as well instead of witing on his next post: Hint 1: If you would think of the lyrics of Anthony Phillips' We're All As We Lie, the first hint might have been an instant giveaway: The Seventeenth lay waiting for the pair as both advanced with silent, ashen stares But there they stood, incredulous, the distance reading "Nebulous" And "Best of luck, Buzz Aldrin beat you there". Hint 2: He belonged to the crew of Apollo 11 and Gemini 12. Gemini is named after the constellation, which is named after Castor and Pollux, the twins from Greek mythology. Castor is also the Latin word for beaver. Hint 4: He was the second to walk on the moon (in a next hint, the Police would have appeared). Hint 7: He changed his first name officially to Buzz, like Geddy Lee changed his first name officially to Geddy. In the USAF he had the rank of Colonel. Les Claypool also calls himself Colonel Claypool. Both Geddy Lee and Les Claypool were born on the 29th day of a month, Buzz Aldrin on the 20th. Edited by someone_else - July 14 2012 at 05:39 |

Woah, a hat trick! Three consecutive wins! The giveaway, for me, was the taxicab driver clue. It instantly reminded me of something about a taxicab driver punched on the jaw by some astronaut. I searched for it, and I looked at the info about Buzz Aldrin and it seemed to fit with many of the clues. I was thinking to myself that if you answered "Yes" to that question, I would know for sure that it was him.
So anyway, it's my turn, right? So.....

I knew you wouldn’t have asked a question like that unless you had a particular astronaut in mind. Very well done!
