this band is too good to not gain some attention, i have never witnessed more interesting an facinating new progressive band, like a cross between modern King Crimson with the metalic presission of Isis and Stupid Dream (Even Less) Porcupine Tree mentality, very "cold" and precise music that are both intricate, mathy and apealing.

I think they have one album out so fare and are working on a second album....still pending....

I certainly can't see how they are tech (as in Tech/Extreme Prog Metal)
They could be PA material, but there's lots of post-punk in it (for instance the track Norgesmester i ludo )

I think crossover, maybe avant.

Are there any other samples available than the two samples from MySpace? Those two sound more like '80s post-punk/synth-pop.

I don't know, but they have a album out i think, i just saw them live and overhead a conversation about yes they had one album and was working on a second one, that's all i know, i just thought the musicianship and songs were proggy and innovative,

did you check the soundcloud link http://www.nrk.no/urort/Artist/SkadneKrekar/default.aspx

All I can find out about this band is that they are a four piece from Norway consisting of Adrian Tvedten - keys, Bendik Andersson - drums, Gaute Valvatne Granli - Guitar, & Jens Borge - bass.  From the numusic.no website, which McAfee flags as "showing risky behaviour" (!), "Skadne Krek is an explosive quartet forged in the fires of the jazz underworld at the University of Stavanger. With a unique contemporary blend of punk, electronica and rock they bridge the gap between improvisation and the compositional elements of the modern age". They won won the national competition "The future of Norwegian jazz " in April this year, are currently touring, and an EP was being recorded at around the same time they won the competition. I can't find any reference to the existing album refered to above, or anywhere to purchase the EP from. Most sites I have visited are in Norwegian, which doesn't help, and google translate doesn't always cope with them succesfully. Doesn't seem to be enough material available at the moment to evaluate them tbf.

i know,, i was mistaken about the album release but i think they are wordking on one,

so this can be closed and reopend when they release the first album and then evaluate if it is prog or not...

We in Skadne Krek appreciate you guys discussing what genre we are in. We have problems defining it ourselves.

We have recorded a album but it has yet to be released. We have been contacted by labels, but they are business men, and we are musicians. So we are playing with the idea to release it on our own label.

If you guys are interested we can start writing more info about the ensemble in english. If you have any questions we will try to accomodate you the best we can.

More info, videos and pictures are going to be published to our facebook page very soon.

we can wait / and must wait til the album is released i think,

men etter hva jeg hører så har dere en viss King Crimson aktig  utrykk (mest i lydbildet og eksperimenteringen),  men jeg er positive til at dere enten passer inn i Eclectic prog eller crossover prog, jeg har med vane å få inn band :)
