2 hour prog-rock assault!  This is the 1974 prog-rock band known as Todd Rundgren's Utopia that released a 4 song LP that included the epic song -- The Ikon!

Todd Rundgren, Kevin Ellman, Jesse Gress, Moogy Klingman, John Siegler, Ralph Schuckett, and Kasim Sulton.

So let me get this straight, are they touring the Utopia prog material?  Because as I recall, Utopia only had two really good prog albums.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

It's not just east coast, Akron is midwest.  It was added late.  I am the promoter for the Akron gig not the tour. 

Anyhoo, yes, this is the prog rock band from the two Todd Rundgren's Utopia albums titled, Todd Rundgren's Utopia and Another Live.  There are some slight variations but basically it is that band and that music.  They added Kasim Sulton, who was in the 4 piece Utopia that was more pop than prog rock, and Jesse Gress who is Todd's right hand man on guitar for his normal tours.  M Frog is the only one missing from the first album.  The 2nd album had Roger Powell and Willie Wilcox on it but they are not part of this tour.  The lineup is ...

This band kicks ass.  They did two shows in NYC in January at the Highline Ballroom and both sold out in 3 days.

The youtube link I added is the band you will see on this tour other than two of the backup singers.

    A bit more.......Ther's very good stuff on albums like Ooops wrong planet and a dventures in Utopia+Ra is a masterpiece and previous material with Utopia is good Wink

Just heard Todd Rundgren's Utopia for the first time after being turned onto todd and utopia by my dad. It was amazing! I love the Ikon it is so creative. So where will they be touring? Unfortunately Moogy Klingman wont be there R.I.P Unhappy
