yes they have really no relation/similraitys other then it is the same guy/person who introduced me to both of them, and it shaped some of my musical paths and likings towards both proggy melodic music and heavy music, Saga is one of the important springboards towards prog and Killing Joke is a healthy band to get used to heavy guitar, guttural voices and harsher topics, but also helped me understand bands like Sounsgarden, Tool, Mastodon, NiN, Faith no More, Metalica, and most sludge,

both are from the early/late 70s and 80s both are fearly important in both sides of music but are also regarded as cult bands as the fanbase are big but the wide knowledge of them is sparse to non-existenced,  both are influentual though to waring degree, and distinct, no bands sound exactly like any of them, they stand out can you say... even if Saga is more accesable are their few bands who sounds like them,,,, IMO

Must be Saga. Worlds Apart is one of the best albums of the period.

Saga is good, but KJ has a certain uniqueness that I like.  Of course I only have two of their albums, but anyway...  KJ it is.

Saga is associated with AOR, Killing Joke with post-punk then goth/industrial metal.

Both had a great impact in their respective field.

Gotta go with the Joke.  I think I've only heard about 3 songs by Saga.
