Physical Graffiti, or Houses Of The Holy. Both show the band in their prime element.

I´d say Physical Graffiti as well, if just for In my time of dying, In the Light and Kashmir. Although I think almost every track has something to it, that could be qualified as progressive.
On the other hand, had Zeppelin lll been their only release - then I am pretty sure, they´d be considered as a fantastic progressive folk band today.

Hard to pinpoint a record, but certain songs sound quite proggy to me:
"Carouselambra" "No Quarter" "Dazed and Confused" "The Rain Song" "Achilles Last Stand"

All their records are dotted with proggish moments, but they went full blown on Houses. No Quarter is the quintessential heavy prog moment.....Spinal Tap was born in that dry ice melltotron rumble.

This. I love them but I don't think any of them are really prog. Some art rock tendencies here and there (No Quarter, Achilles Last Stand) but that's about it. |
