For me it's between E-Re, Part the Second and The Incident.

Part The Second, E-Re, Vehicle (though it isn't here), Octahedron and Hazards of Love are masterpieces i've heard from 2009. Addicted is also an amazing album. What a year this was.
Wow it's so close between E-Re and Part The Second. I'll go with Maudlin because it changed my entire perception of music and led to discovering so many more amazing albums.

Haven't heard all of Addicted yet, so I'm not quite sure.

For 2009 there is no doubt: Part the Second IMO stands head and shoulders above the rest of the field.

There is exceptionally strong year, especially if we compare it with previous one. 24 selected albums according to my criteria, that´s a decent selection!
Porcupine Tree for me, although just this album is generally underrated here.

Frequency gets my vote, but The Underfall Yard, The Whirlwind, The Incident and Number Seven are all damned good as well.

I'm not gonna vote on this one. It's a dead tie between Crack the Skye and Wavering Radiant. Other good albums are Octahedron, Anno Domini High Definition, Ki, The Incident and Blood.

I love a lot of albums on the list, but I had to throw my vote to Riverside.

My favorite Beardfish album finally. LOVE Destined Solitaire, so it will get my vote.
Maudlin of the Well, Riverside and The Decemberists are behind them.

The Underfall Yard me but a very tough year. I could easily have went for The Tangent, IQ, Beardfish, Transatlantic, Phideaux or Gazpacho. To me the Big Big Train album is brilliant!! I left off Porcupine Tree(one of my faves) as I was one of the few that didn't like The Incident

Part the Second, the greatest post-70's masterpiece.
Other good ones here: Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré and The Hazards of Love.
An outsider worth a honorable mention: Freak - Alejandro Matos
