Both are very good but Pretty Purdie contributed to more varied genres than Dennis.

It is worth noting that both played for Steely Dan.

Dennis--  I only know Purdie as the most recorded drummer which though a truly great accomplishment, tells me little of his prowess as compared to Chambers (an utter master, one of the greatest ever).   And since Purdie played with so many people, it's hard to note a standout performance or album.

he played only during a tour they performed in 1993 and 1994, and from which some songs were captured on an album released in 1995 : 'Alive in America'
