Riverside with no doubts (I've listened to this album just few hours ago coming back from work)
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

Riverside's album on this list is brilliant and one of my favorite metal albums.
Traced in Air is amazing too.
Crushed like a rose in the riverflow.

though Transatlantic has that retro feel, they still play symphonic rock better than anyone else

Power to Believe is winning?  I thought it was extremely an average album.  The Whirlwind for me.

Power to Believe just by a hair over the Underfall Yard, the Whirlwind, Who's the Boss, X and We're Here. Tough, tough grouping
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

If "Power to Believe" is an average album, then I'm a Chinese Pope. On the other hand, I consider Transatlantic & Co. (i.e. Tangent, Kaipa, Spock's Beard, Flower Kings) as extremely boring.

^ Chinese Pope eh? Interesting...

It's a tough group because there isn't anything here that I absolutely loved. On the other hand I like many of the songs of Power To Believe a lot.

It's interesting that just old dinosaurs have the most votes of all Semi-Final contenders.

Riverside's Second Life Syndrome is one of my favorite albums. There are some great albums here, though.
Just give it all an hour by the concrete lake.

That's because 50% of the people here won't move out of their comfort zones...

Anyway - Anathema, because it's just a superior album in all regards

More than 50% of the younger bands never get their music out of their comfort zones. They're a bunch of Dinosaur Jr's.

There aren't any really new, recent bands in this batch. I think the average in band activity time here is around two decades. LOL

I'm envious of a band Riverside to Poland, although they aren't exactly my cup of tea. But they're only one representative of Eastern Europe in all this tournament - and in all probability just one of finalists.

King Crimson - easily for me.

PFM is the only other one on that list that really stirs my blood.
