HI
A quick question for those who have a greater knowledge than myself lol
A friend used to have the 'Canterbury Tales-Best of Caravan' vinyl and I love the version of 'For Richard' on that. Can anyone tell me whether it's the same version as on the 'Live at Fairfield Hall 1974' CD? From my memory (which may of course be faulty) I seem to remember the spoken intro was different?
thanks in advance
R

If it's different let me know as I'd like to buy another version of that epic.

According to Wiki: "
Notes: 'For Richard' is the shortened name of 'Can't Be Long Now/Francoise/For Richard/Warlock'. The track that appears on the 1976 release of Canterbury Tales was recorded at Fairfield Halls in 1974. The 1994 release has two other versions: the original studio recording from 'If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You' and a live version from 'Caravan and the New Symponia' |

Live at Fairfield Halls is an absolutely amazing live album - I thought it blew Caravan and the New Symphonia out of the water.

And the New Symphonia album is one of the best orchestra albums ever done iwth a rock band. And quite original and added magnificent moments to their music, besides showing how classicaly minded the band was in the first place!
Which kinda throws the "progressive" thing out the window for folks here, but it really needs to go anyway!
