This is actually a poll where my interests clash. I really like both bands. But considering I prefer brevity over excess, I'll take Riverside. I ignore their new album, though.

Amazing. Whichever band I vote for, you choose the exact opposite!
I guess anyone who likes The Cardiacs and Robert Fripp isn't going to share my taste in a million years.
Riverside for me, though some Sigur Ros is wonderful.

Very difficult, but went with Sigur Ros. They changed the face of post rock, Riverside didn't really change prog metal all that much, but they are one of the best examples of it.

Sigur Ros is the best of post-rock. Riverside isn't best of anything.

Definitely Sigur Ros. Riverside is great but they can't match the beauty of the greatest post-rock band of all time.
