Danish band with lots of silly instrumentation who played back in the start/middle of the 70s. I only have the debut, but they recorded 2 subsequent records to my knowledge.
Here´s a sample: EDIT: A typo in the topic title has been mended. Edited by DamoXt7942 - November 06 2011 at 17:12 |

Ah, I see you've already alerted the fusion team. Thanks! Nice listening, anyhow.

I guess they´ve got some kind of Zappaesque kind of thing going Uwe - you´re right, but Avant? I don´t know really..
When you say long overdue, does that mean that they´ve been suggested before? I thought I looked properly, but then again my glasses are very dirty at the moment... |

I seem to recall that they were evaluated and rejected some time ago.
I'm not sure which team had them. This thread was all I could find:

Actually, it appears they were evaluated by RIO/avant.
No one said no to them, but they seem to have gotten lost. I'll add them to the JR/F eval list.

We've added them to the jazz site in jazz related rock if you want to bring over any info or music.

I´ve been listening a LOT to YouTube the past 2 days(god I love that site - has made me discover so much new music for free - including Andre Fertier´s Clivage, which I also reviewed today), and the past couple of hours haven´t been any different. I stumbled over Dr. Popo Jam´s 2nd release, and maybe now I hear those avant tendencies a bit, but I´d still call them funny fusion. Doesn´t matter really, it would just be cool to have them added regardless of what tag they end up with. Here´s a couple of tracks from Fat Dogs and Danishmen:

Oh, I searched "Dr. Popo Jam" (as the title suggests), so that's why nothing came up.

Of course, it's very fine for us if JR/F can approve them. |

It's too often frustrating to study "Suggesting new band" threads as it appears the band "seems to have been" suggested before but got lost somewhere in the evaluation process.
I'm convinced there is a procedure for suggestions but when too many "non-conformities" like this occur you should attend the problem and revise the procedure to avoid future problems recurring.
Please
(Wrong thread to spread the message but I was going to suggest the band myself and find this mess again....so which genre is Dr.æ Dopo Jam evaluated against....the above messages are contradtictory.)
(This raises the question: where can I follow the evaluation process? Couldn't it be made easily accessible to everyone on PA? This info would be helpful to someone who wants to contribute!)
Besides from that, the evaluation teams do a good job

And I have to add that it seems that Andy is the only one doing stuff in the suggest bands thread regularly now, and Harmonium seems to have dissapeared...

^Sheavy hats of to you. You are doing a fantastic job.
It seems to be appreciated by Andy, Yam Yam and Harmonium, but someone should be guiding these people and follow up.
Lets pull the resources together (those who suggest and those who evaluate) and follow all suggestions through the evaluation process... I want to see the status of the evaluation...!!!!!...so that I - and others - can help along.
