Bad news continue for Pain of Salvation. After the announce about Johan Hallgren leaving PoS, it's now Fredrik Hermansson, the keyboard man, who leaves the band. Daniel Gildenlow and Léo Margarit are now the only survivors !

Very sad Cry

Ship is sinking Daniel? Ain't it?

Maybe it's the perfect time for Daniel to disband PoS and launch his pop solo career... or maybe venture himself in an avant-garde project!! Which I seriously doubt to be honest...

But I might say this is hardly the end of the band, since Daniel is PoS... meeh

You know, this is a vivid business - does not necessarily evoke negative connotations, we will see.
I liked Road Salt Two ...

Shame.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Wow.

The end of an era.

Gildenlow must be a real jerk.Members are leaving the band like rats deserting a sinking ship.

The exits don't necessarily mean Daniel Gildenlow is a jerk. I read that Hallgren is leaving to spend more time with his family. Daniel must not be that bad as he was able to check his ego at the door to work with the Flower Kings and Transatlantic in supporting roles.

Well, that is a somewhat odd way of putting it, Jody.
Maybe it is only the 'official' truth, that Johan Hallgren and Fredrik Hermansson left for private reasons ...
However, differences about the musical direction or the role of each member in a band are simply ordinary ... lineup changes are not necessarily bad ...

Yeah, I guess that's something we've seen in different bands through the years, and being honest... I don't feel Fredrik leaving as a huge loss.. now it would be interesting what musical direction PoS will take, but I guess we'll have to wait 3-4 years to see that..

No surprise here. What can you expect, Road Salt I & II were the two worst albums PoS has created. To say they were painful to listen to is an understatement.  Hope Daniel was gotten whatever musical infection that was in his system out now and that he can return to creating the great music that PoS produced pre-Road Salt ... or should I say Road Kill.

The Road Salt albums are pretty good certainly better than Scarsick.

I'm actually surprised Hermansson has stayed around as long as he has, he's an excellent composer in his own right as Iter Impius shows, but since this has always been unquestionably Daniels band he was never going to get much of look in in writting his own songs. I wonder if we'll see him starting up his own band or going solo in the future?

Well, sad news for PoS fans. Difficult to be objective when you are a fan, I love the band but I think it's fair to say that the last three albums were not of the same quality than the previous ones, fans did not enjoyed them as much as the previous ones and apparently the other members of the band didn't either. If everyone is leaving, there must be  a good reason, and this reasons they give of why they leave "to spend more time with my family"..come on...Probably not making much money either..

Anyway PoS put out some of the best albums ever in prog in my opinion, you can only remain at that level for so long, Daniel should disband PoS and pursue a solo career of form a new band in my opinion!!!
Spiral out, keep going...

It makes sense that they all left for family reasons, but it also make sense that staying with the band isn't as appealing as it was when they were putting out good albums.

Big loss. Most talented member in the band. I bet it's because Daniel didn't let him rerecord the piano on Sisters.

Iter Impius is a very beautiful/emotional song. Just listened to it separately, and it definitely stands on its own.

To be honest, I'm kinda sick of the late POS

Being a huge Faith No More fan I had no problems with Scarsick, but I just don't want to listen to Road Salt (and I mean both)

I hope POS is finished and now it's time for something new

BTW, I find Dial (Kristoffer's band) enormously awesome
