Cinema Show by a large margin.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Two of my most favorite songs ever. Difficult choice.

Okay, I choose Take A Pebble.

Take a Pebble is my favourite ELP song, but Cinema Show, especially live is mindblowing.

I'm gonna sit this one out, I'm afraid..
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Even as a self confessed ELP fanboy I'm always surprised at how incredibly highly many people rate Take a Pebble. Sure, it has a strong and memorable melody beautifully sung by Lake but despite the ingenious and elaborate extemporisation that Emerson coaxes from a rather limited harmonic palette (see My Back Pages and Hang On to A Dream for similar snacks he turned into banquets) for me it can never completely disguise its origins as a finger picked Greg ballad that Keith heard in demo form from a cassette. Once we reach the live incarnation as represented by Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends, the original conception is merely a launching pad for a brilliant boogie via jazz piano extravaganza from Keith.

Take a Pebble is great, the best song on ELP's debut. Nevertheless it is no match for The Cinema Show,

I can see that concerning the composition there is a Lake part and an Emerson part, but I think both parts are fantastic and really fit well together, and for me it doesn't sound like a Lake song with some Emerson parts. I never have the impression that I'm listening to two songs, or to one song ornamented with sounds. In my ears it sounds like a unity, but then again, I never listened much to Welcome Back which might change my attitude, so I don't know.

I think Emerson's piano parts sound absolutely fantastic, and I think the parts with the clapping and the guitar are quite original and for some reason sound fantastic too.

Hard to say why Take A Pebble is one of my favorite ELP songs, but it is.

Cinema Show by a little. Both are excellent. Cinema Show is nearly a perfect song.

Even though I am a massive ELP fan (really, I am quite heavy) it cannot compete with mighty Kinema Show.

The only ELP song that I would consider even close to Cinema Show would be Trilogy.

So no Contest, the Cinema Show, has absolutely everything.

I have to confess that I used to put on Take A Pebble to have a nap at one time before I got older and found napping a lot easier. I'm not that great a fan of Cinema Show (in its studio album form) either. Seems to be building up to something then just fizzles out. I feel a bit cheated listening to it. Its okay though. Neither would ever end up on a compilation of my favourite prog tracks thats for sure.

The Cinema Show is just so badass.

Phil's drumming is just incredible and really shines on that track.
