I don't like either one of them, but I guess I've found more enjoyment in Dream Theater's music.

Dream Theater, they're early albums were quite good, whilst Tool only really has Lateralus and a few songs off of Aenima and 10 000 Days that keep me interested.
Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

I really don't believe I did that. I never thought I would.

I voted for Dream Theater.

Well, I guess I like some of their stuff and I find Tool neither progressive nor interesting, so it's the logical choice.

Tool have released less, but I do appreciate the fact that they take more time over each album - none of the stuff they've released sounds sub-par to me. Dream Theater have produced more and I can't say their track record is as consistent. So Tool for me.
