Recently I have noticed that Nektar's newest album, The Other Side, was listed as being released in 2019 however the full album itself was not released until early 2020. It is true that the singles and promo editions of the album were released in 2019, but the official release of the album was in 2020.

This can be confirmed through their Bandcamp and At The Barrier Website.

^ Thanks, but what's about this 2019 double LP? It doesn't look like promo.

It seems in 2019 the album was released in the US and in 2020 in other countries. So 2019 would be correct.

I honestly don’t think that’s correct, I also own a copy of the vinyl and it clearly states 2020 on it. Thus, I believe that might be the source of the problem. I’ll have to look into fixing that on Discogs. Furthermore, The Other Side also has a 2020 release date on Spotify and on their official website.

I reviewed an album last year 2020, that I was unsure was actually 2020. Discogs listed it as 2019, and the copyright in the cd the band had sent me also said 2019. They confirmed that the albums had been copyrighted and pressed in 2019, but the release date was as they had stated in 2020. The only copies that had been released prior to the release date were promo copies, and the band assumed that it was a promo copy that had been listed on Discogs. But not a single album meant on sale before 2020.

I tend to think from what I can see that the Nektar album is a 2020 album. The year 2020 appears in far bigger print also in the picture you posted, so....

I'm a bit late in posting all this, since you have already sorted it out, but it will confirm beyond doubt that this is indeed a 2020 release:

Discogs has all four versions of the album as 2020 releases: https://www.discogs.com/master/view/1672707.

The Progressive Aspect's review (https://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog/2020/02/10/nektar-the-other-side/) states:
Record Label: Cherry Red Records
Catalogue#: EANTCD1082
Date of Release: 24th January 2020

Amazon UK has the digital version as being released on 24th Jan 2020: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Other-Side-Nektar/dp/B082J31RP4/.

Amazon USA has the same date for the digital version (https://www.amazon.com/Other-Side-Nektar/dp/B082HYYLZW/), and describes the CD version (https://www.amazon.com/Other-Side-NEKTAR/dp/B081KQHK73/) as "2020 studio album by the legendary band Nektar", but further down the page it says:
Manufacturer: Esoteric
Original Release Date: 2020
Date First Available: November 21, 2019
Label: Esoteric

The band announced on facebook, 22nd Nov 2019 (https://www.facebook.com/nektarRocks/posts/2512123545532339) - the day AFTER Amazon USA say (see above) that the album was first available:

The new album The Other Side will be out January 24
CD available on Cherry Red on all media including Amazon
Vinyl available on our website and soon on Amazon
Watch for it.

And UK CD seller Progrock.co.uk lists the album, with the same catalogue#: EANTCD1082, as 'released: 03/02/2020' (https://www.progrock.co.uk/nektar-the-other-side-c2x31440580).

That's a slightly later date than was suggested elsewhere, but still 2020.

I've started playing "I'm Going Slightly Mad", fortunately I'm not that bad. If you register on Discogs you may see in the history that the LP I referred to was edited 3 hours ago, its release date has been changed from 2019 to 2020. Smile

We could have done with big brother around when all these bandcamp album pages were being attacked! This next batch, when fixed, will take us to somewhere around the 800 mark since the problem first came to light:

^ Lol! When it was found out what he'd done with these bandcamp albums, I'm surprised they didn't just give him a slap on the wrist and instruct him to go back and fix them all. From my occasional dialogues with him here in the forum he always seemed so meticulous and thorough with everything he did, so unless there were some other issues with his work which admins weren't happy with, it seems surprising that he was removed from the E&O job completely for this blemish on his record.

Anyhow - here's the next batch from his 'legacy':
