There's something strangely appealing about the drumming in the verses of "Long Distance Runarond". There's a snare hit on every fifth beat, which produces a rather disorienting polymetric effect in relation to the 4/4 time signature of the song. And at the end of each verse, the interval between the snare hits is shortened to four beat and then three, increasing the tension. The great thing is that this produces the desired effect even if you have no clue about the technical side of things: The song seems to be restless and perpetually afloat. I bet that with any other drum track, the tune would lose a great deal of its appeal.

Wow! I did not notice that!

I still remember, the dream there.
I still remember, the time you said goodbye.

I like the Fish. 7/4 is the swingingest time signature ever.

Da Fish
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

For me they are both like one same song, the vocal part and the (bass) solo part (just like Starship Trooper with Wurm to close it), so listening to one without the other just sounds incomplete...

The Fish on Yessongs is absolutely mind blowing when played very loud.

Runaround is a very nice song but doesn't reach the same heights.
