All fusion fans should be familiar with this name. He's the Keith Emerson to Billy Cobham's Rick Wakeman. (if Keith Wakeman were as popular as that guy from Rare Bird that plays Viv Savage in Spinal Tap).
He's played with all the greats, yet he doesn't seem to get the love other fusion artists get. If you're not familiar, check him out with Larry Coryell's 11th House, the first Weather Report album or one of his many solo releases, the most revered being "Brain Transplant" "Virtue" and "Funky Snakefoot" |

Ok, I've read the submission guidelines. Again. I'm confused, my post seems to meet all the criteria and it looks similar to many of the other threads I've read.

The Coryell stuff is good.
Has a few regrettable tracks and some really smokin' JRF. I did have the misfortune of ordering one his solo albums used that was listed as a Larry Coryell album. It was a disco record and Larry was nowhere to be seen. |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

"Mind Transplant" (from which the above three YouTube videos are taken) is certainly a fine album. Embedding has been disabled for these videos though it seems.
These links will provide you with 6 of the 8 tracks on the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0vsw5hYyso (Carbon Dioxide) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRj02qk1K0o (Golden Rainbows /Snowbound) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USnlDY7dCik (Mind Transport / Nitroglycerin) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfQ6QT1ljwY (Ascorbic Acid) Here's the previous thread for this guy from early 2009, for anyone who's interested: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=55768
