Spanish Proggy stuff, releasing their debut album two months ago. Honestly, samples doesn't give them justice, so the evaluation may be a bit difficult, but there are some on their official pages. Just a few though:
http://www.absenteh.com/#destino3 Oh and also their label is Musea. This means something :-) As far as I hear, there are elements promising entry in one of these three subgenres, of course, the decision will lie on each respective team. Though there are probably not enough keyboards for Neo Prog. |

Where do you want it to go, Marty? I have already voted for a move from neo (I think to crossover), whilst nobody else on the team has voted yet.
I would suggest eval by Xover?

My weapon of choice would be the Symphonic Prog, a lot of classical influences (including a lot of piano passages), these retro keyboards (mellotron I suppose), gentle flute ... I want to try Symphonic first, having Crossover as a last choice.
So you think it's a Prog, right ? That's the important thing :-) |

Absolutely, which is why I voted to move. I'd be very disappointed if they didn't end up on the site, but I don't think they fit within neo.

If you want to send it over to us, please come over to our office and we will have a look at it. I got the album somewhere between cans of catfood, pies and spam.

However, as this is a new band, I wanted to make somewhat public thread about it. I also found out that when I make a thread with every suggestion I do, it helps a lot to track down unsuccessful suggestions (I simply do "find members posts" - mine posts), rather than directly post in team's thread. There are special cases though as with my recent suggestion JAN SPALENY. |

Hi, I have had the opportunity to listen to the album of "absente h" and I can say without any understanding that is progressive rock, but it's true that music is in your website has nothing to do with the whole album, as Marty says, are very short samples. I do not know why not put more representative samples of progrock.
This is a video of Absente h

To my ears this album is a very well-crafted mixture of neo and symphonic prog - & more so the latter from my own current understanding of that sub genre. I would personally be tempted to offer it to Iván and his team for evaluation before it gets passed on to crossover. At the moment it is still listed on progfreak with just the neo team votes showing: http://progfreak.com/Absente-H-149647.html?path=pa/recent, with 'move' apparently being the general theme, so I'm assuming it's still up for grabs.
Anyone registered at mindawn.com can listen to it in full up to three times: http://www.mindawn.com/artists/AbsenteH, but samples other than that are limited to the six excerpts on the band's website and the YouTube video of track 7, Yo No Lo Se. Album and band info: Vagalume (2011): 1. Linea Finita (Pt.1) 13:14 2. Vuelo Entre Las Nubes 8:08 3. Puerta De Enlace 8:46 4. Hora Tras Hora 4:36 5. Fantasgotico 7:16 6. Cambios 5:00 7. Yo No Lo Se 4:30 8. Aurea 5:04 9. Vagalum Y La Luna 6:11 10. Linea Finita (Pt.2) 2:08 Musicians: David Pérez: vocals. Juan Pedro Miralles: keyboards. Jesús González: drums. Alfonso Pazos: bass. María José Izquierdo: flute & backing vocals. María Sánchez: violín & backing vocals. Víctor García: guitars. Good album - wish I understood Spanish!

Being Peruvian, I grew listening Rock from Spanish speaking countries (Even when my favourites were English and USA bands), and ABSENTE H reminds me a lot of Miguel Rios with that faked accent (trying to sound extra rocker), if you listen the Rock/Pop album Rock and Rios (with Thijs Van Leer in the keyboards), you will notice the similarity.
Crossover IMO would be a good option. Iván
