Latimer is technically a better player (Gilmour said himself in an interview that he wasn't as good technically as Latimer or Steve Hackett) and they are both incredibly emotional guitarists.

I'm voting for Latimer but Gilmour is also a wonderful player.

As a guitar player, I prefer David Gilmour, so I voted for him.

(As a composer, I prefer Latimer, but that has not been asked)

Technically Latimer may be a bit more versatile & expressive but Gilmour has come up with some great killer emotional licks in his day.
I like them both.equally.
