Avalanche were the band from Holland. The samples are from their 1979 lp titled Perseverance Kills Our Game

Avalanche Avalanche was a project by multi instrumentalist Jan Blom from Gouda. With the help of a few other musicians they recorded an album. It was recorded with the help of a technician on only four tracks in a school in The Hague. 500 copies of the album were released. Although there were plans to record another album, the band ceased to exist. Daan Slaman would later join Pinpoint. Perseverance Kills Our Game (1979) Tracks: 1. Lodalientje (3:55) 2. Cola-tik (2:47) 3. Hymn On Wind And Water (5:17) 4. Maiden Voyage (6:56) 5. Gimmick For 20 Fingers (1:18) 6. Transcendence (for Leo) (7:11) 7. Images Of Long Gone By (2:29) 8. Oblivion (11:14) Musicians: Information: Absolutely gorgeous album - belongs here without any doubt whatsoever!! ProGGnosis already have them: http://www.proggnosis.com/PGRelease.asp?RID=9132, and there is a great review of it here: http://gnosis2000.net/reviews/avalanche.htm. According to this review, the band apparently wants to do a CD, but the original tapes are missing and the group does
not want a vinyl transcription. Edit: A copy of this was sold on eBay on 30th Sept 2011 for £256.00 plus postage! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AVALANCHE-Perseverance-Kills-Our-Game-DUTCH-PRIVATE-1979-Orig-PSYCH-PROG-LP-/140610475903

Suddenly thought about this old thread after listening to this gem of an album again tonight...and, yes - they were added: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7305.
No reviews of the album yet, and just one rating (4stars) - I don't personally write reviews, since the English we use in the Black Country doesn't lend itself to very succinct prose, I'm afraid...but any Prog Reviewers out there who enjoy folky stuff will certainly find something of interest here.
